ACAWC 2016 UK Charity Partner

ACAWC 2016 UK Charity Partner
Prodigy Learning today announced UK charity SportsAble as the charity partner for the ACA World Championship UK & Ireland Final on June 16, 2016.  SportsAble is a leading grassroots to Paralympic  sports charity that has been changing disabled people’s lives through sport for more than four decades.

The Adobe Certified Associate World Championship is a global competition that identifies and honours the next generation of design professionals using Adobe software.  The Regional Final will bring together the 20 finalists at an event hosted by Adobe UK on June 16, 2016 to determine the UK & Ireland Champion.

The event will see finalists compete in a design challenge where they will be .given instructions, project requirements, and assets to complete a real–world design challenge for SportsAble using Adobe Creative Cloud software.  The UK & Ireland Champion will be determined based on an evaluation of the finalists’ work.

The 2016 UK & Ireland Champion will win the trip of a lifetime (sponsored by Prodigy Learning) to represent the region and compete at the final round of the World Championship in Orlando, Florida.

Vivienne Davies
(Chairman, SportsAble) commenting on the announcement said: “We are thrilled to be chosen as this year’s ACA World Championship charity. The right graphic design can be the difference between someone walking past one of our flyers and someone stopping, reading it, acting upon it and deciding to get involved and make a difference."

We have to rely on volunteer designers and therefore this opportunity is a real treat for us and something we really appreciate. We are very excited about the final  on 16th June and look forward to meeting everyone. Thank you for supporting SportsAble.”

Rhian Davies
(Digital Media Marketing Manager, Northern Europe, Adobe) noted: “We are extremely pleased to be continuing our relationship with the ACA World Championship this year by hosting the event at our UK headquarters in Maidenhead. To be able to work alongside a local charity partner such as Sportable is exciting and we are eager to see the final work that these finalists can achieve using our creative software to benefit a wonderful charity

Andrew Flood (CEO, Prodigy Learning) added: “The ACA Championship presents a unique opportunity for us to give tangible benefit to a very deserving charity while also giving real-world design experience to a very talented group of design students.  We are excited to see the projects the students produce using Adobe Creative Cloud and will be proud to see the artwork used for such a good cause as SportsAble.”
